Every Saturday growing up, my mom would tune into CHUO 89.1FM and listen to Reggae In The Fields. EVERY Jamaican in Ottawa tunes in. Often, there would be a song that lasts for 10 minutes and I never understood why people weren’t tired of it. Turns out it wasn’t the same song, just the same backing track. Only a few months ago did I realize that is called the Riddim Track (shame on me). I’ve been on one for a while now. Silly Walks put out the Brighter Days Riddim Track a few years ago. I”m playing catch-up. It’s cool how artists can describe pain (Christopher Martin), to love (Romain Virgo) to encouragement (Exco Levi) on one track. Its 15 minutes long, but rocksteady to this!
